About My Practice
As a South Asian-American therapist, I bring a deep understanding of the nuanced intersection between cultural values, intergenerational dynamics, and personal well-being. I recognize the unique barriers that clients from immigrant and minority backgrounds often face, including family expectations, acculturation stress, and the stigma surrounding mental health treatment.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensed by the New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health from the City University of New York—having completed academic training at both City College and Hunter College. I bring over five years of professional experience working with diverse mental health populations in a range of clinical environments, high-acuity settings such as the Psychiatric Emergency Department at NYC Health + Hospitals. Currently, I offer virtual psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups.
Above all, I aim to provide a safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment—one where clients feel seen, heard, and understood without needing to explain their cultural background. My work is grounded in the belief that healing occurs when individuals are empowered to explore their goals, honor their values, and move toward a life of greater clarity, balance, and self-acceptance.
My Therapeutic Philosophy
Every person who enters my office brings with them a rich tapestry of cultural experiences, family dynamics, and personal strengths. I believe that therapy should honor these aspects of your identity while providing you with practical tools for healing and growth. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities with cultural humility and respect for your individual journey.
